Yogurt is now also useful for bone fractures

Wuhan (China): Some bacteria have been discovered in yogurt that not only heals bone fractures faster but can also reduce infections and complications after surgery.

Experimentally isolating a type of bacterium derived from yogurt and using it in broken bone surgery was very beneficial as the wound healed faster and the infection was reduced. In case of fractures and fractures, the immediate operation is done and metal plates, patches and even nut bolts are applied as it is very important to join the bones and thus the bones become one by themselves.

Now the bacteria in yogurt can make this easier. Chinese experts have discovered this bacterium. Lai Tan, a professor at Hubei University in Wuhan, China, and his colleagues extracted a microscopic lactobacillus casei from yogurt and applied it directly to broken bones.

These bacteria improve the body's natural defense system, regrowing tissues and releasing antibacterial ingredients. This also reduces the risk of wound healing.

Experimentally, scientists applied titanium patches to the broken bones of mice, three of which were coated with dead lactobacilli Casey I, while the other three implants were not treated with bacteria.

Four weeks later, the bone tissue and bone density of the mice with the bacterial graft increased by 27%, compared to half that of other rats.

It should be noted that the increase in bone tissue indicates that the fracture is improving. Interestingly, yogurt bacteria can also reduce infections that are common in bone treatment and have shown tremendous results. But there is some evidence that this bacterium can be useful in many diseases.
