Harmful effects of plastics on human health, scientific evidence found

Sweden: We have long been concerned about plastic waste, which poses a threat to all living things, but now there is evidence that plastic can be extremely harmful to human health.

Research has shown that plastics contain "endocrine-disrupting chemicals" or "ADCs".

Affecting the endocrine glands can lead to problems such as cancer, diabetes, neurological and maternal disorders.

In addition, many other toxic compounds have been discovered in plastics

The study was jointly conducted by the Global Endocrine Society and the Global Network for the Elimination of Contaminants (IPEN) and was hailed as a global alarm.

It has also been found that a thousand types of plastics contain EDCs, including bisphenol A, thallates, poly and perfluorocarbon components, dioxins, UV stabilizers and other harmful substances, including cadmium.

It is used everywhere, including in plastic packaging, pharmaceuticals, toys, electronics, industries and vehicles.

In general, plastics contain many chemicals and 144 of them have been declared harmful to human health. Thus, the presence of EDC in human bodies has now become a global problem.

Judy Flows, the lead author of the report, says that in their homes, tiny plastic particles enter our bodies and remove EDCs. Large-scale action and measures are needed in this regard.

Dr. Paulina Damdipolov, an expert at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, says that if pregnant women are exposed to plastic, the EDCs in the plastic can also affect the baby's DNA.
