Antibodies persist for up to 6 months in coronavirus patients, research shows

TOKYO (Reuters) - Antibodies in coronavirus patients last for up to six months, a study in Japan found.

According to the World News Agency, researchers at Yokohama University in Japan studied 376 patients to find out the answer to the question of how long antibodies to the virus remain in the body in patients who have won the battle with code-19.

The study found that corona antibodies were present in 98% of patients after 6 months. In the next phase of research, antibodies will be tested again in patients' bodies a year later.

The patients selected for the study had the same number of men and women with an average age of 49 years. Most were patients with severe symptoms.

Although this research has been done on very few patients, the research team of the University of Japan claims that this is the result of similar research done globally.

It should be noted that when a germ enters our body, the immune system is activated and produces antibodies to the germ which destroys the germ and protects the body from the disease in the future as well.
